I have just checked outside again and it seems to have calmed down a bit but it has not stopped raining.Lyn Armstronghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00557236694461718364noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2912299820318509857.post-53398850420039227742009-11-19T22:20:14.457+00:002009-11-19T22:20:14.457+00:00Hi Lyn,

It is always dreadful to see images like this but when it's your own town that you love, it hurts, very much.BilboWagginshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06913801147278606148noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2912299820318509857.post-76475277297892186772009-11-19T20:43:06.539+00:002009-11-19T20:43:06.539+00:00Thanks for visiting Jayne, I saw the Main St in Co...Thanks for visiting Jayne, I saw the Main St in Cockermouth was under 18" of water, that is terrible, what a mess for all the shop keepers. Keswick town centre is ok but a lot of the shops closed. Down by the Catholic Church, where the River Greta is pouring over the defences, and also on Penrith Road where its broken onto the main road it seems to be at its deepest. But the old Methodist Chapel outside Booths was converted to 5 little houses and they have 18" of water in them now, they knew it flooded badly there too and they still converted the Chapel, it was senseless.Lyn Armstronghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00557236694461718364noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2912299820318509857.post-26137595505290239242009-11-19T17:52:34.317+00:002009-11-19T17:52:34.317+00:00What dreadful pictures Lyn (*I don't mean your...What dreadful pictures Lyn (*I don't mean your photographs are bad!). The TV pics of Cockermouth earlier were awful - similar depths of rain throughout Main Street.

Thanks for your comment on my blog, glad you and Pete are OK but feel for your friends. Suspect it is going to look a whole lot worse in the morning.BilboWagginshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06913801147278606148noreply@blogger.com
